Here's who I am & what I do

Madison Potts McAdoo is a civic education and equity leader with more than eight years of experience advancing gender, racial, and economic justice through advocacy education, facilitation, and systems-level work. She currently serves as Advocacy Education Manager at YWCA Greater Atlanta, where she leads public education and civic engagement initiatives that equip individuals and communities with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to participate fully in civic and public life.

In her role at YWCA Greater Atlanta, Madison designs and facilitates advocacy education programs that translate complex policy issues into accessible, community-centered learning experiences. Her work focuses on building leadership capacity, strengthening civic participation, and centering the lived experiences of women, families, and historically marginalized communities across Georgia.

Madison is also a five-star rated facilitator with Balancing Life Issues, a national employee assistance and training organization. Through this work, she facilitates trainings for organizations across the country, including ADP, the University of Wisconsin, Anthem EAP, Americold Logistics, Acenttra Health, and Highlands River Behavioral Health. Her facilitation addresses topics such as conflict management, goal setting, healthy mindset, and workplace well-being, and is known for being practical, engaging, and responsive to the real-world needs of participants across sectors.

Previously, Madison held leadership roles with Courageous Conversation Global Foundation, where she facilitated equity and leadership development trainings for institutions including UC Berkeley, Procter and Gamble, Eileen Fisher, the New York City Department of Education, and nonprofit and higher education partners nationwide. Across sectors, she is known for creating learning environments that are thoughtful, courageous, and accessible, supporting individuals and institutions as they navigate change, conflict, and growth.

Madison’s commitment to equity and justice was shaped through early leadership in community organizing and student advocacy and continues to guide her work today. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Sociology from Kennesaw State University, along with a certificate in Diversity and Community Engagement. She was recognized as the 2018 Georgia Occupation Award of Leadership recipient and holds a Certificate of Appreciation from The King Center for her contributions to community engagement and social justice. In recognition of her continued leadership and impact, she was also honored with the 2021 NAACP Image Award for Student Activist of the Year.
